Training Sessions with Dale and Dutch, 2017-2018

Dutch was Dale's 5th and final service dog. Arriving in Colorado Halloween 2017, Dutch began training for Dale's specifics needs.

After the initial wheelchair and retrieve training, Dale and I met 3 days a week for two and a half months.

I lived at Dale's house for 3 weeks during his placement. We then continued to meet 3 days a week for training until Dale was admitted to the Porter Hospital for pneumonia in June 2018. 

Dale was transferred to Colorado Acute Long Term Care Hospital.
While there she developed a pressure wound, which later became infected.

All visitors, including Dutch, had to wear gloves and a gown.
Although not thrilled to do so, Dutch was a good sport!

Prior to the infection, Dutch and I were allowed to visit all day and sleep overnight. 

We had slumber parties 3 to 4 nights a week!
